Hello Maryland Birders,

This final summary report for Bird Blitz 2010 gives results from surveys
conducted at three saltmarsh IBAs on the eastern shore. These identified
IBAs contain most of the saltmarshes in Maryland and provide critical
habitat for the suite of birds specially adapted to tidal marsh ecosystems,
including Saltmarsh Sparrow. Follow the link below to read the results of
surveys which targeted this globally vulnerable species as part of an effort
to determine whether each of these IBAs supports globally significant
populations of Saltmarsh Sparrow:

Thank you again to all of our great Bird Blitz volunteers! Your hard work is
truly paying off as we continue to identify critical habitats for our
state's most vulnerable bird species. Stay tuned for more information on
Bird Blitz in 2011.

Best regards,

David
