Yesterday I had 2 very nice FOX SPARROWS at Piney Run. I was mainly looking
for ducks. After an early BUFFLEHEAD and a PIED-BILLED GREBE, I finally
found some AMERICAN WIDGEON (Ringler calls them BALDPATES) in a cove in the
back. Not much else about but some KINGLETS and JUNCOS.
Today I found another FOX SPARROW at Hashawa and my fisrt nice look at a
WINTER WREN since last winter. This cooperative little critter even hopped
up onto a branch at eye level. Usually their first move is under the nearest
brush pile or log.
Also paused to watch a RED-TAIL circling around. Never gets old. Anybody out
there not do this? If so, turn in your binocs. You don't deserve 'em.
