Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from November 11,2010
This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
The summary of bird observations that follows was taken by permission
from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and MD Port Administration, November
2010, Fauna Monitoring Report for the Paul S. Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration
Project at Poplar Island.
Note the presence of Pied-billed Grebe, Snow Goose, American Coot,
Hudsonian Godwit, Barn Owl and Snow Buntings. Note also the sighting of a
Ring-necked Duck and again the large total numbers of ducks.
