Hi Everyone,

My wife and I went to Poolesville's Poplar Spring Animal Santurary this past Sayturday (11-20-10) for their "Turkey-less" Thanksgiving - a vegan potluck and at the no kill sanctuary for resuced farm animals.

They have a small farm pound (~.5 acre) where they keep their rescued domestic geese, ducks, and Mallards.  Interestings, it has attracted a large number of migrating waterfowl, including 1 Black Duck, 1 Northern Shoveler, 1 Pintail, and a big flock of 20-30 American Wigeons, and 60-80 Mallards!  The managers of the Santuary told me that they feed the ducks 2 x day, and every year they see the waterfowl numbers explod during migration and then fall as December and Janurary wear on.
