Scoter and common goldeneye were abundant on the Chesapeake Bay side of the Point. A large group of surf scoter off the causeway was accompanied by one white-winged scoter. A group of black scoter were near the fishing pier. On the Potomac side of the point several groups of bufflehead, female red-breasted mergansers, a few female scaup, and some solitary common loons were diving.
Based on a recent post from Bill Hubick, I also checked Cornfield Harbor Rd/Dr and found two adult bald eagles posing on a dead tree.
