The Ovenbird continues at Schoolhouse Pond early this morning. It was foraging along the trail at the rear of the pond in the light dusting of snow and flurries. There were also 700 or so Canada Geese present, but no unusual geese that I could find. In spite of yesterday's warmer temperatures and rain, there is still a large portion of the pond covered by ice, which will hopefully draw some gulls in later today. On Saturday (12/11), there were 323 Ring-billed Gulls, 34 Herring Gulls, and 5 Laughing Gulls on the ice. Included was one wing-tagged and banded adult Ring-billed Gull (tag number 256).
