A few hours at the inlet today produced the usual suspects for gulls, a
rather large mixed flock of Ruddy Turnstones and Purple Sandpipers, and a
good complement of waterfowl:
Red-necked Loon (~15)
Double-crested Cormorant (1)
Long-tailed Duck (one group of ~8)
Red-breased Merganser (3)
Bufflehead (~12)
A very large representation of all three scoters (~15% Black, ~60%
White-winged, ~15% Surf) spread from off the Assateague jetty, southward
Harlequin Duck (2, a male and female)
