I saw the Golden-crowned Sparrow this morning from 9:15 until 9:30 when I left. I was the second car there this morning, arriving at 8 am. Three others saw it as well (the first car with one person and the third car with two people). Thanks to Joe in the third car who spotted it before I did and put on his flashers. It was in the same spot as most recently described, about half way in between the hedgerow break and the office on Remington Dr (39.180075,-76.182982). It came out from underneath the large dead pokeberry and scurried around, making four or five short appearances in the 15 min. interval. It would run out to the road and grab a bit of food (had a big corn kernal-looking piece for a while) and then run back to the pokeberry, which it stayed underneath, inside of, or very close to. It spent very little time eating on the grass in the open while I was watching it. I was a little surprised how rough it looked compared to the neat crisp white-crowned and white-throateds. The gold on the fore-crown was quite bright and apparent though, contrasting well with the blackish lateral crown stripes.

Thanks to everyone for posting all the info about this bird, and of course for finding it in the first place.

Good Birding,
