On trip # 2 we got the famous sparrow today between 9 and 9:30. It came out
at least 3 times while we were right across from it. It looked at us a
couple of times. Melted our hearts.
Counting the Rough-leg we got on trip #1, Laura is already up to 2 life
birds this year. And there are still a few hours left of it.
Hopefully we will do much better next year. We tried to show the Harveys the
Rough-leg after we left the sparrow, but all we got over there was 2 BALD
EAGLES, a male HARRIER and a PEREGRINE. And some vultures chowing down on
some poor deer that never learned to look before it crossed a road.
We also tried to find a Ross' Goose over at Great Oak Pond, but the only 2
candidates were probably smallish Snows. Lotta Geese over there to sort
thru.
Everybody have a Happy New Year and be safe.
