This morning (Wed., 12/29), I birded with Ottavio Janni & Rob Hilton in
DC. Here are the highlights:

1 ICELAND GULL found by Ottavio. It was a 1st cycle bird, on the ice on
the Anacostia, just north of Poplar Pt. Last seen flying upriver.
1 AMERICAN PIPIT - heard flying over while Ottavio & I were standing at
the Tidal Basin (main parking lot)
1 PINE WARBLER - Hains Pt., along the river side of the road just south
of the 1st set of restrooms on the river side, with a mixed flock of
titmice, juncos & white-throats. Presumably the same bird that Sandy
Farkas & others found on the DC CBC 11 days earlier.
1 COMMON YELLOWTHROAT - a first year male, seen in Anacostia Park along
the weedy edge of the river, just southwest of the intersection of
Anacostia Dr. & Good Hope Rd. Ottavio found this bird a week earlier
(on the 20th; not sure if others had found it on the DC CBC).

Rob & Ottavio were headed to Kenilworth Park after we split, so perhaps
they've got some other birds to add.

Good birding,
