The Loggerhead Shrike near Pickering Creek Audubon Center was present around
noon today in the middle of the field beside Presquile Road, where it has
been for the past several days. I arrived at 11:20 and stayed until 12:45,
along with several other birders and several neighbors who wondered what we
were looking for. All managed to get nice scope views and one birder, from
Georgetown, DE, managed to get quite nice photographs. The bird feeds much
like a Bluebird - perching at the top of fairly low trees or shrubs,
dropping to the ground in pursuit of a food item, then returning to a perch
near where it had recently been.

Parking beside Todd's Corner Road near the intersection with Presquile Road
seems to be working quite well since there is enough of a shoulder available
to allow one to keep from impeding traffic.
