With snow forcasted for the central Piedmont, it might be a good idea to look over those blackbirds (spp.) congregated around feeders. This past Sunday, we had a Rusty Blackbird at our Creswell (Harford Co.) feeders in the morning. This makes two years in row now for Rusty here (not recorded in the yard before last year). Mostly hanging on its own, and strictly on the ground, it did depart and arrive with a flock of about 15 Red-winged Blackbirds. Also present, one Common Grackle. A "Bronzed" one.
