What was once one Rusty Blackbird in the yard (Creswell, Harford) on last Sunday has turned into four today (1/14). Three are variably black scalloped, mottled males and one a stunningly "rusty" female. Interesting is how they walk around with a more erect posture relative to the company they keep. The snow cover here sits at about an inch or two. Also, the mixed blackbird flock has gotten quite bigger and a single Chipping Sparrow is present.
