*Lake* Kittamaqundi dredging in full swing

*Expected completion date for Lake Kittamaqundi dredging is September 2011*

The Lake Kittamaqundi dredging project is in full swing with the
contractor, Cashman
Dredging & Marine Contracting Company, actively constructing planned lake
features, such as wetlands and peninsulas, as well as hydraulically dredging
and dewatering the lake sediments. The contractor will be at the site
dredging seven days a week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., which
coincides with County policy. Work will continue to work seven days per week
in order to complete the project on time; currently scheduled for September
2011.

The staging area, located north of South Entrance Road, is the location
where the sediments are pumped for dewatering and hauling to a beneficial
reuse site. The staging area utilizes a series of pumps, generators and
equipment to accomplish the dewatering, loading and trucking of the
sediments. CA and the contractor will do everything possible to limit the
noise impact on the community. All equipment is to either be of a “quiet”
version or insulated to reduce the emitted sounds. The contractor and CA
Project Staff take decibel meter readings several times per day in the
vicinity of the nearby dwellings to ensure that they are well below the
allowable limits. If you have any questions or concerns about the noise
impact, please call 410-312-6330.
