Last night I received an eBird alert that a White-winged Scoter was  
seen yesterday afternoon from the tip of Hains Point.  So, I went  
there first thing this morning and after a bit of scanning I refound  
the Scoter way on the other side of the river next to the red buoy  
with a number 2 on it (near the shoreline for Bolling AFB).  Would be  
nice to see the Scoter a bit closer than 1/4 mile away, but even at  
that distance the field marks were evident.
