Stimulated by Andy Wilson's report of the numerous waterfowI he saw at Kershner's pond in Frederick County, I visited the pond this morning and was joined by Joe Hanfman. Except for the absence of the Northern Pintail and Hooded Merganser, we saw the same species seen by Andy. I expect Joe will report on the detailed sightings later today.

Next I went to Black Hill RP. At Little Seneca Lake (Route 121) I met Don Sweig who pointed out Common Goldeneye---two drake and 4 hens. Also seen were:

Canvasback 6
Bufflehead 10
Ruddy Duck 8
Common Merganser

From the Black Hill visitor center we saw:

Readhead 4
Ring-necked Duck 40
Bufflehead 2
Common Merganser 6
Common Goldeneye 6 (same ones as above from a different angle of view)

Have Fun Birding!
