I arrived at Violette's lock around 8AM where a huge gull flight was underway, all birds moving upriver against violent gusty NW winds. The flight was mostly over by 8:30, so I missed much of it. I counted 2450 Ring-bills nearly all adults, 37 Herrings, about half adults, and one first winter Lesser Black-backed Gull.
