Dan,
after blanking on the wood stork I thought I'd try last
evening to salvage the day by trying
for the woodcocks you'd mentioned out at Greenbury Point by
the Naval Aacademy Golf course.
I didn't go "all around the point," but did stop at the little wooden
Observation Platform to the left of the asphalt trail just behind
the Visitor Center.
Somewhere around 6:10 I heard a half-dozen calls, likely all from
the same bird, as well as the whirring sound of one flight display.
I also looked around and asked myself (with a dope slap up beside
the head) why I'd not thought of looking for them here before;
especially with the second growth maturing now it's a perfect site.
Many thanks, to you & Isla.
