Had my first real birding trip to underbirded Charles County today 
(apart from last year's Bird Blitz) and had fun exploring some new areas 
and beefing up my county list.  Highlights were a CACKLING GOOSE amongst 
Canadas at Allen's Fresh Road together with 4 GREEN-WINGED TEAL (both 
foy on eBird for county) and four raptor species; all-time eBird County 
HIGH COUNT OF 480 AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS (conservative estimate) at 
Mattawoman Creek Road together with a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER and 
NORTHERN PINTAILS; and a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH at Rock Point (not that 
unusual but I always get a charge out of seeing these guys).  A HORNED 
GREBE and COMMON LOON at Cobb Island were also foy on eBird for County.
