Hi all here is a report of the Talbot County Bird Club's Visit to Wye Island near Queenstown in Queen Annes County on Sunday Feb 20,2011. 8 eager birders meet trip leader Danny Poet at the bridge to the Island . We ended the day with with an offiical 45 species . After the walk the hungry birders enjoyed a excellent brunch at the near by home of Carol and Joe Jelich my thanks to them for hosting . Before leaving for home Joe took several of us out into his meadow to look at his created wetlands a great habitat all around Bird list below .
Snow Goose 20 flyovers
Canada Goose scores as well as one that had an all white body with a normal color neck and head seen by several folks

While not on the club trip list because of only being seen by one person or after the tally these birds are worth mentioning
Hooded Merganser 2 at the Jelich's Terry Allen only
Pileated Woodpecker 1 flying over Charmichael Rd near the cattle farm seen by Danny Poet only
Eastern Meadowlark 1 cattle farm Danny Poet only
Catbird 1 Wye Island flew across a path Dave Palmer only
NORTHERN BOBWHITE 20 The covey flushed as we walked out the Jelich's driveway to see the wetlands 5 of us saw them but it was after the tally . Now that was a real treat
