Hi all,

As I left my house in NE Baltimore City around 8:30 this morning, I heard
geese honking.  I looked up and saw a flock of at least a couple of hundred
Canada Geese flying due north, with more birds joining from the east as the
flock formed its vee.  The geese were flying quite high and moving so fast I
could barely get an estimate before they moved out of sight.  I don't think
I've ever seen geese flying so fast.  This was about a week earlier than the
first big flocks I observed flying north over the city last year.
Meanwhile, the local robins have reappeared and started making themselves
heard, and the cardinals are clearly involved in amorous activities.  It's
definitely feeling like spring out there!
