Hi All,

After several curious years of 'nary a Woodcock to be seen here at
Broken Wallet Farm, we are again hosting a good number of displaying
birds. We have fairly good habitat for them here in our development.
Five years ago we converted what was an acre or so of horse pasture
into a meadow. As is the inevitable progression of meadows, we now
have eastern Red Cedars, Tulip Poplars (odd that... not really a
pioneer tree), and other trees and shrubs taking root. The woodies
love this type of open, somewhat damp habitat for practicing their
aerial shows.

Good birding,
