Interesting!  I was out of town this week, and it was very exciting last evening to see many strings of very high flying geese headed north.  For about 25 minutes right before dusk I enjoyed the spectacle as there sounds filled the air. I also heard a few ducks but could not tell what was going on with them.  I did not actually see them and it sounded like they were mostly on or along the river. I also heard a Phoebe calling, my first of the year for our yard.
 
This morning is very noisy with a different sound ... Tundra Swans!  A flock of 136 has arrived at Jug Bay, and the wonderful calls fill the air.  Birdsong from the passerines is vibrant and loud, ... it's on!
