Evening,

I was falcon counting today on my way to and from appointments in
Caroline County.

I had AMERICAN KESTREL at the following spots on power lines and poles:

-On Rt 50, just South of Chesapeake College
-On Rt 16, North of Preston (male)
-On Richardson Road in Caroline (a half mile prior was one MERLIN).
-On Rt 16, North of Harmony
-At the intersection of Rt 404 and Rt 16 in Denton

In Queen Anne's, I found four Wilson's SNIPE in a muddy cornfield,
just prior to the first pond.

Of course, I closed out falcons late this afternoon with the local
pair here at home in Annapolis.

At lunchtime, I stopped in briefly to Daniel Crouse Park in Denton to
see if the Black-headed Gull was present. It was not, but when I
asked Jim Stasz (who was also at the park) if the Black-headed Gull
was present, he answered, "yes, there is a gull with a black head."
And then he kindly put me on my FOY LAUGHING GULL. : )

A moment later, a second LAGU dropped in.

I posted a few drive-by photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nervousbird/

Good Birding,
