Morning all,
This morning I had time for only a brief walk around the yard, but about halfway around I heard the unmistakeable (well perhaps confusing only with a Starling) loud call (TZEEEK...) of an Eastern Meadowlark, which was perched up high in a tall cherry tree in our yard. First of the season for me, but certainly not the last. It only called, did not sing, and after a while took off heading south, so probably a migrant. When they come back and start singing, it'll be spring here.
