I looked for waterfowl on the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers in southern
Prince George's County today. It was great to see Horned Grebes
migrating through in good numbers (multiple individuals at several
stops), but the two big highlights were:

-Four LONG-TAILED DUCKS (2 m., 2 f.) at Cedar Haven Fishing Area in
Eagle Harbor. Poor photo:

-one WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, seen from the end of Wharf Road in Piscataway.

There was also a single Bonaparte's Gull flying upriver on the Potomac,
seen from National Colonial Farm. I saw what was probably the same bird
sitting on the water from Fort Washington a little later in the day.
