Hello,

I was able to get out for an hour and stopped by Southwest Area Park in Baltimore from 1800 to 1900. The species count was low and I didn't bird the wooded path, but I was able to hit 5 Blackbird species and flushed my FOY Woodcock. A flock of around 20 Common Grackles were near the park entrance. Red-wings were all over the park. One flock held two Brown-headed Cowbirds. While hiking the fields by the boat launch there were, again, several Red-wings and I flushed two Eastern Meadowlarks and a Woodcock. The one Meadowlark landed in a tree and posed for a few distant shots. On the way out of the park I stopped near the exit to inspect a large flock of Red-winged Blackbirds, which yielded 6 Rusty Blackbirds. Also of note was my first Herring Gull of the year that was off the bay.

Take care,
Jon Corcoran
