Yesterday was the 3rd out of the last 4 Sundays that I have seen an immature Cooper's Hawk as I was going to church at 16 & P St. The first time, c. 9:30 am, she (I'm guessing, because of size) was perched in a tree at the south west corner of the intersection of 16th and Q St. On the nw corner there is a building with lots of pigeons always on it--I think some of the residents are feeding them on their windowsills. The next Sunday, c. 12:30, same location. The 3d Sunday, I checked the tree but didn't see her. Then yesterday, c 3pm, I saw her flying overhead, while I was over on 15th and P getting my car. No proof of course the 3d time was the same bird, but seems very possible. I thought others might want to know in case they are in the area, since she seems to be sticking close to those pigeons!
