My only observation of Yellow-headed Blackbird in DC was of a female, 31 JAN 1982, at the enormous roost of Cowbirds and Grackles (many thousands of birds) on Constitution Avenue, in front of the Natural History museum. This roost was a regular winter feature of the mall in the 80's. Most of the birds seemed to come from VA, and the best time to be there was a half hour before sunset. I am not sure if the trees are even there today. The bird did not repeat.
