Early this morning Wendy Olsson and I walked downtown Baltimore searching
for migrants attracted by city lights that often end up flying into windows.
This was the first day in our spring migration monitoring. We found five
dead American Woodcocks (one was a victim of the Peregrine Falcon) and
rescued another bird that injured itıs right eye in a window collision. Two
Dark-eyed Juncos and three Song Sparrow were found dead; but we did see
another three Song Sparrow‹alive and well. Several American Robin and House
Finch could be heard singing in the area.
