Hashawa today

Had some nice surprises at Hashawa this AM. BARRED OWL calling from up near
the nature center - not Bear Branch, the other one. He was just doing the
"you-all" end of the call, not the whole cooking for you bit.
    Also had a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and a singing BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE
along the creek. Plenty of RED-WINGS are staking out territories along the
boardwalk at the pond. And I think I saw the MARSH SPARROW in the swampy
area along John Owings Rd.

The big thrill was had here at home. 6 WOOD DUCKS were seen on the lake and
the creek behind it. First ones of the year. Plenty of RINGNECKS and
HOODIES, TOO.
