Hello all--

Enjoyed the nice weather Thursday evening (3/17) by walking the Serpentine Trail at Soldier's Delight. While I wasn't necessarily birding, I timed my walk so that I crossed the fields on the way back at around dusk. At 7:40pm, the American Woodcock started their "peenting". I heard 6-8 individuals in total, including a visual of one on the ground, and two aerial displays.

Other birds of note included a Wild Turkey, and a pair of Barred Owls in the distance discussing dinner plans (I assume mates).

Happy birding,
dcs
