Havent done alot of birding lately . Just have a few things of interest .
Had done  carry out dinner with mom all last week and would just sit at Southwest Area park  or  Ft Amistead or  Harbor Hospital on the Patapsco river  in southwest baltimore  . with only about an hour of daylight didnt see alot . Last Monday harbor hospital just before dark hundreds of Gulls   in steady stream coming from  Middlebranch park over the Hanover street birdge and heading to roost in Fells Point . Estimate 400 ..Last evening  not many gulls around . There were 2 Red breasted Merganser not too far out behind the Hospital . I moved to the lot closer to them to get I.D. and they steadily drifted southeast.toward Masonville cove.An   Eagle flyby , some Buffleheads ,  and  a steady stream of black dots flying just above the water near Masonville cove. thought to be some sort of ducks
I was very excited last week to have found the Osprey nest that i suspected was in the Cabin Branch area of Curtis bay. I figured these Osprey to be closeby as they come to my neighborhood pond for Goldfish meals . Anyway i found their nest on a crane behind an old factory in Cabin Branch .Seen from the bridge on Pennington ave.  Had both Osprey sitting by the nest.  . Then......... looked for the nest 2 days later and nest and crane nowhere to be seen . This seems to be a reoccurring theme for me . Get excited .... Get disappointed..... !!!!Anyway  i checked  photos taken there a month ago and that crane and nest were seen in the photo. Early nest ?? last years nest ????
