This afternoon I saw 2 Long-tailed Ducks at Kershner's Pond near Burkittsville in Frederick County.  There were also 2 Horned Grebes in pond with the more usual suspects this time of year.  This was only my second time seeing Long-tails and Horned Grebes in Frederick County.


Upstream of Harper's Ferry on the Potomac there were 7 Horned Grebes as well, but they seem to turn up more frequently in Washington County.
