A Dalliance of Eagles

While hiking today along Northwest Branch upstream from Colesville Road, two adult Bald Eagles flew over calling and swooping at each other, repeatedly swooping quite close. A magnificent sight, though to my great disappointment, they never locked talons as in the Walt Whitman poem. Close, but no cigar before they soared upstream out of sight.

Not much else to report from there. Very quiet aside from a kingfisher intent on waking the dead with his rattle.
