Hi all --

Things started out slowly at Wheaton Regional Park (Mont. Co.) today but
soon livened up! Highlights were a COMMON LOON in full breeding
plumage on Pine Lake, an AMERICAN KESTREL (unusual here) and
multiple FOY PINE & PALM WARBLERS, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER
and other goodies. The warblers were all together in a mixed flock which
also contained kinglets of both species, Brown Creepers, tits and a
probable Red-breasted Nuthatch seen in distant flight & which darted
away before allowing a good look. The Palms were feeding on the ground
and many (all bright yellow birds) were singing. Tree Swallows are back
at the lake, Phoebes are carrying nesting material, scores of Robins
singing everywhere and all in all, a very nice early spring day!
