Birds on the lake:
3 WOODIES - a male and 2 females. One of the females flew over as I was
starting down. I could hear one squeaking as a got down near the lake. It
was the one closest to the male and probably complaining to him about the
other one showing up. No, she wasn't interested in a threesome.

2 RINGNECKS, male and female, with a female BUFFLEHEAD swimming with them.
They eventually all started diving together. An inter-species threesome? How
kinky.

The first PIED-BILLED GREBE of the season. It was also diving, mostly to
stay out of site of the weirdo on the bank with the binoculars. Once it came
up between 2 geese, spotted me again and dove immediately. Last I saw of it.
Hope it didn't drown.

In the air over the lake:
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK
2 TREE SWALLOWS - the first of the season. I got a spare box in the yard if
they want to use it.

On land:
BROWN THRASHER
RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD - Singing male, also the first of the season here.
CHIPPING SPARROWS - at least 2 singing males. First of the season and
welcome back.
WHITE-THROATS - also singing nicely. Getting warmed up for the breeding
season up north. April is my favorite month to have them around. They color
up and sing like they mean it.
FIELD SPARROWS - also singing

Chilly but nice morning to be out.
