Morning all,
Just time for a short walk around the yard, but interesting nevertheless.
My fields are beginning to pay dividends, as large numbers or Chipping Sparrows are finding they like the long weedy habitat. A pair of Song Sparrows were there too, and a Savannah Sparrow popped up between the two fields, then sat on the fence giving me good looks. Lots of juncos in the grass and fields too.
A small group of 6 Double-crested Cormorants flew over heading north.
Yesterday I planted two grape vines (both table variety, white and red seedless) along the fence, which will offer more nesting places for the birds, and hopefully, eventually, some fruit for us.
