I stopped by Hains Point and Kennilworth Aquatic Gardens in DC this morning.

FOY at Hains Point for me were:

Brown Thrasher (4! on the service road)
Bonaparte's Gull 2
Barn Swallow 2
Purple Martin 1
Palm Warbler 1
Blue Grey Gnatcatcher 1

Also of interest were a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet with spread crown giving chase
to another kinglet, and a Pine Warbler near the mulch piles.

Probably the best bird was at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens were I found a
female NORTHERN SHOVELER in the small cell nearest the visitor center. By
the time I came back around on my way out, she was gone (likely scared off
by a large crowd of schoolkids).

In addition, Mark Mahnke informed me that this morning in Rock Creek Park,
DC, he saw a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH along the stream below the bridge on Ross
Drive.

  Good birding,
