Today I enjoyed a long walk on the Falls Rd. Rail Trail side of Lake Roland. Highlights were a FOY Great Crested Flycatcher and excellent looks at a FOY Yellow Warbler. The Yellow Warbler was my favorite sighting, flitting around on a bush within feet of me, right out in the open, sometimes too close to focus my bins! Other birds of interest were a plethora of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and RC Kinglets, 5 Palm Warblers (yellow), 2 GC Kinglets, 3 Fox Sparrows, 2 Purple Martins, a Black-and-white Warbler and a calling Yellow-throated Warbler. I love these rainy, spring mornings, they are always productive.
