After Thursday's record breaking flight of Broad-winged Hawks, Friday was a bit disappointing. Clear skies again made it hard to spot high flying raptors, and winds from the ENE didn't help. We began at 9:30 AM and stopped at 3:00 PM.

NOTE: The Spring watch-site is located along the Sherwood driveway near the loop that circles the park office.

CVP HawkWatch Friday, April 15th 2011 - observers: Mark Scarff - Joe Stag - Jim Meyers

Broadwings - 11

Redtails - 3

Sharpies - 7

Coopers - 3

Osprey - 2

B. Eagle - 3

N. Harrier - 1

Am. Kestrel - 1

29 Loons were seen migrating, and Mark Scarff spotted a Swamp Sparrow along Minebank Run.

We are hoping for more good flights once the weather clears.
