Those of you who recently read my post about my long search for blue-winged teal, which finally ended with 2 birds at Schoolhouse Pond a few weeks ago, might appreciate my current situation. I'm visiting Nebraska, near Omaha, and of course doing a bit of birding. The only ducks I've seen, so far - the ONLY ducks - are .... blue winged teal!!! There are about sixteen in the lake my cabin overlooks at Platte River State Park, which I see each morning. And everywhere I go ... there they are!

Ah, the irony of birding.....

Best (non-duck) bird of the trip - a fabulous Harris' sparrow!
