Birded Calvert Cliffs State Park, Battle Creek Cypress Swamp and North Beach on Friday with pretty good results. Nothing rare but some nice birds including 12 warbler spp. We had a pair of Solitary Sandpipers at the pond at Calvert Cliffs, a close pair of Yellow-throated Vireos, a Black-throated Green Warbler, Worm-eating Warbler, Scarlet and Summer Tanagers, Acadian Flycatcher, Great Crested Flycatcher, Ovenbirds, 2 male Black-throated Blue Warblers, Black and White Warbler with nesting material, nesting Rough-winged Swallows. Also had a Black Rat Snake sunning on a pile of sticks, N. Water Snake, 5 lined Skink and E. Fence Lizard. Zebra Swallowtails were everywhere.

The cypress swamp was pretty quiet but we had a really nice male Hooded Warbler singing from an exposed perch like 10 feet away.

There were about 15 snowy Egrets in the tidal pond at North Beach, a somewhat surprising flock of several dozen Black Scoters, and three flyby Least Terns.

Good Birding,
