It's Banana KWIT (also Grass KWIT) -- at least that's how the folks in the
countries where these species occur pronunce it :-)

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Yard birds and pronunciation question (extralimital)

Morning all,
Just heard Yellow Warbler and Common Yellowthroat in or near the yard,
two FOY's here.

A question for those more knowledgeable in world birds; Bananaquit, is it
pronounced "banana keet" or "banana kwit"? Same for grassquit, "grass
keet" or "grass kwit"? Just trying to settle an argument (well more of a
dispute really).

Thanks,
Rick Sussman
