No, I wasn't at the tip of South America today. Believe it or not the REAL
Cape Horn is a road here in Carroll County, near Manchester. And there is
one of those overly civilized parks on it that is all full of soccer fields
and stuff like that. There is also a pond, a few scattered wooded patches
and a paved trail that circumnavigates the whole thing. There's that word
again.
The woods on the west side of the park were full of YELLOW-RUMPS and
NORTHERN PARULAS. BLUEBIRDS are feeding young in a box at the northeast
corner of the woods.
However the big thrill was while I was retuning to the truck. I heard a
familiar song that I usually describe as sounding like a video game. I
looked up and caught a pair of BOBOLINKS doing a flyover. And oddly, they
were flying south at the time. Toward my house. I checked the yard when I
got home but they must be in somebody else's.

Circumnavigating yet again in Carroll County.
