I would have loved to have had a more extensive photo shoot with the Purple Gallinule, but I was very pleased with seeing and hearing it as well as we did. Here's the best I managed to snap:

I'm sure others got some better shots (Evelyn, I hope!), and I will probably return sometime soon if it sticks around for a while. I also got some short recordings of it vocalizing.
A big thanks to Dave Powell for the awesome find! I look forward to fulfilling the beer debt for the great state bird. Thanks also to Jim Stasz for wandering around and finding it while the rest of us watched Bullfrogs wrestling!
