What a magnificent day for birding--the 15 participants enjoyed a lot of birds and many good looks. We birded a few hours, concentrating on the immediate mill area and then the picnic area.

We found 18 warbler species, including Yellow (2), Blackburnian (4), Cerulean (6, great looks), both waterthrushes (great looks at Louisiana), Prothonotary (5, great looks), Chat (2), Magnolia (3), Blackpoll (some low, easy ones), and Kentucky (several).

Some of the other birds we enjoyed: Wood Duck, Yellow-Throated Vireo, Bald Eagle, Cooper's Hawk, Orchard Oriole, Phoebe, Blue Heron, Osprey, hummer, Kingfisher, Veery (briefly), Wood Thrush, Indigo Bunting, Acadian.

All Good Birding,
Tim Houghton
