In addition to the 9:15 am sighting of the Purple Gallinule, a number of
us saw it again from the path north of the parking lot at about 11: 30
(?).  After vocalizing for a while, it move forward through the vegetation
and climbed into a small willow that is directly in front of the path. A
few individuals were able to get some photos. It was a much better view
than the one I had at 9:15, and after 17 hours of patient waiting this
week, I feel greatly rewarded. What a stunningly beautiful bird! Best of
luck to those who have not seen it yet.
