Hi all,
Mike Bowen and I birded the Carderock area, Montgomery Co, MD this morning.  Highlights included.
Carderock parking lot
2 Cedar Waxwings
Tow path Carderock -> Beltway
2 Solitary Sandpipers
3 Eastern Phoebe
4 Northern Parula (our most observed warbler)
1 Scarlet Tanager
3 Orchard Oriole

Billy Goat Trail Tow path -> Potomac River -> Carderock
3 Mallard with 8 ducklings
2 Chimney Swift (on the river)
2 Great Crested Flycatcher
1 Eastern Kingbird
2 Warbling Vireo
2 Northern Rough-winged Swallow
12 Barn Swallow
2 Northern Parula
3 Baltimore Oriole

Tow path Carderock upstream a little past the Marsden Tract Day Use Area
1 Red-shouldered Hawk
1 Solitary Sandpiper
1 Magnolia Warbler
2 Louisiana Waterthrush
1 Common Yellowthroat
2 Canada Warbler

Pretty quiet for a May Morning, but most of the rain held off.
