Birded Washington County this morning and found a variety of birds
despite an extended bout of heavy rain. Highlight was hearing an ALDER
FLYCATCHER (first county eBird record since 2009) at the Indian Springs
WMA trail just north of Blairs Valley Lake, where I also heard 2 BLUE
WINGED WARBLERS. A turkey hunter there had not seen any turkeys but said
a BLACK BEAR WITH 2 CUBS passed within 20 yards of him. So if you are
in that area be careful.

At Stumpf Road I had a nice variety of warblers including 2 CERULEAN, 2
HOODED, and a BLACKBURNIAN. 6 SPECIES OF SHOREBIRDS continue at the wet
field on Rench Road. And I managed a single VESPER SPARROW and a pair of
BLUE GROSBEAKs in the afternoon at Antietam National Battlefield.
